The chances of your getting a refund from Shaw(which was just purchased by Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in the world) AND keeping the floor are slim to none. Shaw could offfer a discount if you agree to accept their defective flooring. In my opinion, this is how many manufactuers get away with less than great quality control proceedures and happens far too often.

If you are entitled to a warranty replacement from Shaw, insist they PAY to move all those appliances, and for a PROFESSIONAL installation. Many flooring manufacutuers are not willing to pay (or pay enough) for the installation of replacment of their defective merchandise.

As a flooring contractor, many of my customers who had manufactuer defective flooring replaced had MUCH less qualified installers do it because the mills will only pay a ridiculously low installation fee in my opinion, on replacements. That is, the manufactuers are dictating the installation fees for replacement of their defective material and this is not equitable for the consumer, the retaielrs nor the installer in my opinion. This is like a water heater manufactuer dictating how much the plumber bills an hour, or a roofing manufactuer dictating the price of roofing labor.

My customers got apples for oranges when it came to their warranties, in my opinion.
